I was blind – Rossie
I grew up in the Church
of England, but I never heard the truth of salvation preached there. In 1988 I
was told that I needed to be born of water and the Spirit to enter the kingdom
of God. That same night I received the Holy Spirit with the evidence of
speaking an unknown tongue, and a few days later I was baptized by full
immersion. In 1993 I suddenly lost the sight in my left eye. Doctors diagnosed
a retinal detachment, and I was transferred to Groote Schuur hospital. There
the specialists confirmed the diagnosis and I was scheduled for surgery the
next day. There was nothing that could be done for the blindness, but they
wanted to prevent further damage to my eye. That night I prayed to God and
asked Him to heal me. When the doctor came into my room the next morning, I
realized that I could see perfectly out of my blind eye. I didn't need any
operation. Once I was blind, but now I can see! |
